This time of year, signals the end of winter and takes us into warmer, longer days through spring and into Summer. Make the most of spring sunshine and take in the magnificent scenery. There are some wonderful drives in the area from which you can view scenic mountain ranges, lakes and towns along coast roads, inland past lakes and passing spectacular castles. If you would rather take a walk on foot, the choice is even greater from short strolls to much longer hikes.
Talyllyn Railway
The Trefeddian is situated a short distance from the base of Cader Idris for the more confident climber or an easy afternoon stroll along the vast sandy beach of Aberdyfi. The choice is yours! We are also blessed with amazing waterfalls in the area. The most impressive are at Dolgoch. You can reach these either with a short drive, or make a day of it by taking a ride on the Talyllyn Steam Train from Tywyn. Disembark at Dolgoch for a lovely walk all the way up alongside the waterfalls.
paddleboarding
There are lots of other activities to do while you stay at the Trefeddian this spring. Grab the crabbing nets and buckets and go down to the jetty. Children while away many hours perfecting the art of carefully transporting them from the water to the buckets, count up their haul and then release them back to the sea on the beach. Aberdyfi is also a hive of watersport activity from paddleboarding, fishing, kayaking and sailing.

On dry land, Aberdyfi has a recreation ground with lawn bowling and croquet.  And for the more professional golfer, we have Aberdyfi’s famous links golf course right on our doorstep, where many professionals have played. Not forgetting all the fabulous the facilities here at the hotel, you can participate in, tennis, putting and there’s the playground for the younger visitors and the indoor pool offers a leisurely evening swim as the sun sets.
So, there’s lots to look forward to when the clocks change, with longer days to enjoy everything the Trefeddian and the area has to offer!
