Penmaenpool Toll Bridge
This time of year signals the end of winter and takes us into warmer, longer days through spring and into summer. Make the most of the spring sunshine and take in the magnificent scenery. There are some wonderful drives in the area where you can view scenic mountain ranges, lakes and towns, and spectacular castles. If you would rather take a walk on foot, the choice is even greater from short strolls to much longer hikes.
Talyllyn Railway
For the more confident climber, the Trefeddian is situated a short distance from the base of Cader Idris. Or for an easier afternoon, take a stroll along the vast, sandy beach of Aberdyfi - the choice is yours. We are also blessed with amazing waterfalls in the area - the most impressive are at Dolgoch. You can reach these via a short drive, or by making a day of it on the Talyllyn Steam Train from Tywyn. Disembark at Dolgoch for a lovely walk all the way up alongside the waterfalls.
Paddleboarding in Aberdovey
There are lots of other activities to do while you stay at the Trefeddian this spring. Grab your crabbing nets and buckets, and go down to the jetty. Children while away many hours perfecting the art of carefully transporting them from the water to the buckets, counting up their haul and then releasing them back to the sea on the beach. Aberdyfi is also a hive of watersport activity from paddleboarding, fishing, kayaking and sailing.
Aberdovey Golf Club
On dry land, Aberdyfi has a recreation ground with lawn bowling and croquet. For the more experienced golfer, we have Aberdyfi’s famous links golf course right on our doorstep, where many professionals have played. Not forgetting all the fabulous facilities here at the hotel - you can participate in tennis or putting, and there’s even the playground for younger visitors. The indoor pool also offers a leisurely evening swim as the sun sets.
There’s lots to look forward to when the clocks change, with longer days to enjoy everything the Trefeddian - and the area - has to offer.
