February signifies winter coming to an end as the skies become clearer, warmer weather appears and buds show on trees.
It’s a time of quiet reflection and future planning, and there’s no better place to ponder than in the tranquillity of Aberdyfi and the relaxing atmosphere of the Trefeddian.
February is also pancake time. This year, Pancake Day (or Shrove Tuesday) takes places on 21st February - it is a day that signifies the beginning of Lent known as Ash Wednesday.
Traditionally, Shrove Tuesday is the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast.

The Falls of Dolgoch are certainly a sight to behold after the rains have passed. This walk takes you up through the Fathew Valley and under the viaduct which carries the Talyllyn Railway steam train.
Our four miles of golden, sandy beach is a treat for a relaxing stroll or to let your furry friends release some energy. Return to some delights from our bar snack menu or treat yourself to a fabulous homemade afternoon tea in our cosy sea view lounges.
Our fabulous five-course dinner will whet your appetite after a relaxing afternoon floating in our indoor swimming pool and hot tub. If you prefer to keep your toes dry, there are games to play, books to read or snooker to challenge your skills.
