Half Term is coming and you’re probably wondering how to keep the whole family entertained while you stay…well look no further we’ve got it covered!

Of course we have to tell you about our usual favourites, the wonderful Talyllyn Railway (don’t forget you get 20% off if you stay with us!), the enchanting Corris Craft Centre (complete with gin distillery to keep Mums and Dads sane!) and Bounce Below (for the more adventurous!).

But why not pop on your wellie bobs and embrace some of the beautiful and enchanting places that surround the Trefeddian, breathe in that fresh fresh fresh air and have a good old fashioned explore.  And if it’s raining…no worries, locally we call it a natural spa.  It will make you feel more alive and energised than you have in a long while…just make sure you wrap up warm!

Here are our three favourite places to get wet in the winter…sorry correction…our three favourite places to explore in the winter…

Dolgoch Falls

Dolgoch Falls are the closest waterfalls to the hotel, just a short drive will take you to these enchanting falls.

Spectacular at any time of the year especially if you have the energy to climb to the top, the river Dolgoch forms a series of waterfalls which cascade down a beautiful rocky ravine down the mountainside to a deep pool below.  The falls are impressive particularly if the weather is wet, shelter under the trees or in the cave and watch the water thunder down.

Discover…hidden caves and secret paths

Bwlch Nant Yr Arian

Stunning views of Cardigan Bay and the Cambrian Mountains can be seen along the multitude of woodland trails.  An astonishing 150 Red Kites swoop down at feeding time, so be sure to plan your visit to spectate this magnificent sight!

Keep your eye out for…a lovely gift shop, explorer back packs and fabulous children’s play areas

Ynysmaengwyn

Explore enchanting Ynysmaengwyn.  Meander through breath taking and beautiful woodlands to the delightful River Dysynni.  Pass tumbled down remains of the once grand estate and the tranquil walled garden, always warm whatever the weather.

Look out for…an ancient dove cote, fairy garden and bug hotel

Don’t forget you can order a packed lunch for you day out and if you get really soggy make use of the hotel’s drying room!

Not feeling the love for a little Welsh weather, check out the matinee performances at the Magic Lantern Cinema in Tywyn!
