Reflecting On Our Year
Although we’ve only been open for six months this year, it’s been one of the busiest seasons ever. It has been wonderful welcoming back past guests and greeting so many new ones. The hotel has never felt more alive, whether that’s because we were closed for so long or because everyone has embraced their stay with us with such gusto - it’s hard to say. Either way, it has been a pleasure for all of us.
It will be sad to close the doors again for our annual shut down, but we have a lot of work to do ready to welcome you all back in 2022. We will be refurbishing several of our rooms and ensuring everything is bright and shiny for your return.
With the uncertainty of Covid, ever-changing regulations and staffing shortages, it’s been a trying year at times, but it’s also been successful in many ways. Our staff have worked tirelessly and come together as a very close-knit team, often stepping in to help other departments. It has been lovely to be a part of this team - we have a great Trefeddian family. We have had an exciting year of awards too, starting with the Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award. It’s thanks to you all for leaving such fabulous reviews based on service, quality and customer satisfaction that we achieved this esteemed award. The Good Hotel Guide, Britain’s leading independent hotel guide, also presented us with two awards this year - the Editor's Choice Awards for Family and Seaside Hotel, adding to our wall of fame.
It hasn’t just been the Trefeddian that has had a successful year either. Aberdovey has been buzzing with the sound of people once again - the shops have been bustling and the beach has been full of families having fun and enjoying their freedom. Our friends at the Talyllyn Railway also received amazing news when they were named part of the new Slate Landscape World Heritage Designation alongside five other areas in North Wales. We highly recommend a day out on the Talyllyn Railway - don’t forget you will receive 20% off if you stay with us. There was great news from across the estuary too with the long-awaited relaunch of the Dyfi Wildlife Centre - at long last, able to open its doors to this amazing new visitor experience. In the heart of the UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere and home to the Dyfi Osprey Project, the centre offers a unique experience and is well worth a visit.
So as the year draws to a close, and we hear the last footsteps leave, we reflect on all we have achieved this year. We hope you have all enjoyed your time with us as much as we have.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. And we look forward to welcoming you all back soon. Stay safe.
