Outdoors isn’t always about sporting activities - Tywyn Leisure Park is a great place for families to spend time enjoying various fun activities. There is an 18-hole putting course, crown green bowls, crazy golf, tennis, an outdoor pool table, table tennis, quoits, shuffleboard and skittles. 3.  Wonderful wanders

Visitors to the Trefeddian can enjoy a local walk and take in the spectacular scenery that makes this part of Wales so popular. There are many walks nearby - and others a little further away - ranging from an amble around Aberdyfi itself, or for the more energetic walker, Cadair Idris is only a short drive and Eryri (Mount Snowdon) is a little further away.

4. Beach trekking

Bwlchgwyn Farm is a short car ride away and has many pony trekking and horse-riding activities to choose from. You can trek along the beach and the Mawddach Estuary with magnificent views of the Snowdonia and Cader Idris mountain ranges. Suitable for all ages with smaller ponies and larger horses, you do not need any experience for the beach trek, although this does need to be booked online due to varying tide times. Bwlchgwyn offers a one-hour novice estuary trek, a two-hour novice beach trek and a private experienced ride.

5. Wheelie wonderful rides

Cycling is a wonderful way to see the local area around the Trefeddian. The Mawddach Trail is one of the most scenic, disused railway tracks in the country, running along the Mawddach Estuary below the foothills of Cadair Idris. The trail starts in Dolgellau, passes through Penmaenpool where you will see the wooden toll bridge alongside George III Hotel, and the other bridge is at the mouth of the estuary, carrying the railway line, pedestrians and cyclists into Barmouth.
